This is a good book and a particularly interesting read for me. It had a lot to do with alcoholism from which, thankfully, I am quite far. That said, almost all examples in the book had to do with alcoholism and that got tiring for me quickly. To be clear, I could relate to the behaviours of codependents and dependents and even see some of them close to me. But then the examples made me feel distant again.

I suppose that this book is simply not for me. It's a shame though because it was interesting and like I said, I could relate to a fair bit of the book. I also don't want to undermine its importance to someone actually dealing with alcoholism in their family or close ones. It is definitely a useful book for them to begin finding a solution.
