So, this book and I started off on the wrong page. I don't always agree with Tessa's actions. I understand the need for the MC to be in the middle of the action, but she's intelligent enough to know when she would be of use in a fight – being somewhat trained isn't going to be enough.

After that though, things went along better. I really enjoyed reading this and seeing how it all came together. I do wish there had been more focus on the actual problem than on the romance which was just alright for me– until the end.

Let me talk about the romance in the spoiler since 1. I'm going to spoil things obviously, and 2. some people might not agree with me.
Dudes, Tessa is totally one of those people who can and does love more than one person at a time.... polyamory? Is that the right term? I think it is If I'm wrong, please tell me so I can switch itBut, she loves both Will and Jem equally, she says this often in fact. And Woolsey (I think) comments on how she has two great loves of her life. As rep of a certain sexuality, I totally think this could be rep'd as such.... if it is. Anyhow, it totally didn't stick to my "first boy syndrome" theory EVEN THOUGH I will fight people on the unfairness of the writing. Will obviously got more attention, more moments of love or affection in the writing and truly is the one I felt she loved, while with Jem, I didn't get it too much. I like them together and I love the ending, but I also wish there was more evidence of them liking each other before the engagement. Non-romance related: Does anyone else think that Magnus found Jem's cure in the Book of the White??? I totally think it is thanks to Clary and them that Jem and Tessa were able to be together.

Well... I think that sums that up lol.

I'm glad I read the trilogy. It isn't mind shattering, but it did make me cry for the last... 2-3 chapters and make me late to a party since I just couldn't stop reading.
Definitely one I'd recommend to others.
