This book was really annoying.
It has no sense, the story is boring and really weird, even for kids. This is one of those times when I can say I prefer the movies.
First half of the book was a whimsical “haha Stuart is small” kinda kid's story. Second half was a train wreck and a waste of my time. Stuart falls in love with a bird and goes on a journey to find her...only to then fall for some random other girl (why is there a Thumbelina sized woman in this universe?) and then he acts like a total Nice Guy (tm) loser to that girl so she ditches him. He then continues on the bird journey...okay?? Was there a point to this book? How did this get turned into a movie? Why is Stuart not a mouse-mouse but a mouse-looking boy? I was very happy to fling this into the nearest little free library.
I loved this book as a kid, and even acted in it in a theatre production. However, it was far less adventurous than I remembered, and reading it had me wondering what kind of messages I was instilling in my kiddo. Stuart throws so many tantrums about basically nothing! Charlotte's Web feels better to me, but ultimately both are less strong than I remember!
This is such a childhood Classic!!! It wasn't quite as good as I remembered, but it was still good!!!
I never thought I'd say this, but Stuart Little is a sulky, immature jerk. I don't think I've ever read a children's book where the main character gets progressively more unlikable and learns absolutely nothing throughout the entire story.
I generally enjoyed this book but I was very disappointed in the ending. It felt rushed and I it really took away from my enjoyment of the book.
What a disappointment! This book was cute, and Stuart was amusing, but the story really petered out at the end.

My sons have always told me to read Stuart Little. But for some reason I always seem to set their recommendations aside. Once again, I am sorry that I did so.
Stuart Little is my new favorite book. I loved the chapter where Stuart goes to substitute in a school. Absolutely brilliant dialogue.
I don't know how many times I've read this book, but reading it again for the Childhood Favourites Reading Challenge was a joy. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I still laughed when I read about Stuart inside the piano, and I felt sad when his friend Margalo the bird left home.
