This was a tough decision, but I just have no motivation to continue on with this book. This book wasn't particularly bad, it was just a bit boring and confusing.
Amazing.
Like, I'm not even sure if anything else needs to be said.
I absolutely adored this audiobook. The narrator truly brings the reader into the story and makes the characters easily identifiable. I will be looking up this narrator for sure.
The story itself was a wild ride from start to finish with some obvious character growth for some of the characters. It felt real and at some times it was truly a punch in the gut. There were times I had to stop what I was doing and just listen, I was so struck by a scene I had to give it my full attention. I cried. It was hard for me not too when I was so taken in by the characters.
The characters... Tina is a rock. I loved her character from the first minute I learned about her. A thief who loves her sister and feels betrayed by her mother's past employer. Boy Boy is darling– I always have a soft spot for computer hackers. Micheal is that warring presence that causes that separate perspective. Even the side characters felt full.
I will say I was surprised at how things ended. I didn't expect the things that happened and how it all turned out. But, I liked it!
Just, I have such love for this book.
I will be recommending it to people who like thrillers more than mysteries, since my heart was pounding all the time. I definitely will be reading more by this author and listening to the narrator in the future.
Thrills from start to finish. Teens will root for the avenging Tina (Tiny Girl) and get an introduction to the idea of effects of constant civil war. I wish the author was native, and wonder how the story would change if she was. Easy to booktalk, and is already moving from shelves!
