This is the most casual type of horror I've read, you basically you follow witches in their everyday lives just casually dressing up to meet with Satan, or messing with dark magic, or preparing dinner, which is probably a body they had lying around. Sabrina is still very likeable despite this dark twist and I originally thought this was going to be a continuation of what happened to Sabrina in Afterlife with Archie, Vol. 1: Escape from Riverdale this is a completely separate story. The art style is probably my favorite part of reading this it is incredibly unique. ~Ashley
Really good! Really graphic and creepy and it never SCARED me but I definitely felt a little off put by it. Illustrations were good, writing was really good, and it left me wanting more immediately.
This is a hard book for me to review. On one hand, it is a really interesting story and I want to see where the story is going. On the other hand, gross monsters aren't really my kind of thing.
What has made me decide to not continue the series is my dislike of Sabrina, the character, and the mix of the monsters. She seems a bit indecisive – which totally makes sense since she's a teen and has to deal with this huge decision.
I think if it wasn't a graphic novel I might be able to continue it, but it just really isn't my type of thing. And that's okay! Sometimes I go outside of my comfort zone just to see if I'll like something new and make sure I'm not sticking myself in a rut.
I definitely think if you like horror you will like this – don't go in for the Sabrina the Teenage Witch vibes, the characters are really the only similarities.
mmmm this is definitely a case of a book where I can see that it's good at doing what it set out to do, but I don't like that thing?? I...I like fun TGIF Sabrina! I never in my life needed to see Sabrina and her aunts eating dead Harvey's flesh. Yikes! So I dunno, if you're looking for a horror comic, it's great. If you're looking for like...Sabrina the Teenage Witch...it's not that. (And it's very clearly not trying to be that, or trying to be a dark gritty reboot of that anyway, and, like, why though.)
That was some dark shit, Archie Comics. I'm loving what you guys are doing right now.
