This was so adorable! I love how it was lighthearted, but also dealt with heavier topics. I also really loved both of the main characters!
It reminded me a lot of Heartstopper, which I loved!
I would definitely recommend picking this up for a cute, quick read!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a e-arc in exchange for my honest review
There is so much heart in the story. I quickly cared for the characters. The art style is beautiful and expressive.
A sweet, quick read; however, I would have liked to spend a bit more time with these characters. More development of their relationship and personal arcs would have made this closer to a 5-star read and made it feel less didactic in parts. Regardless, I loved Annie and Bebe and felt the crisp, colorful art matched the overall gentle tone of the story, so it was a mostly satisfying one-sitting read for me. 3.5 60s screamo cover bands out of 5, rounded up.
Extremely quick read! I would've liked more but I'm happy with what we got. Even though I really liked it I rated it that because of all the supporting characters. I didn't like them much at all. I liked them a little bit and then definitely not and then back to like, etc. I felt they (the cheer squad) wanted to look all supportive but... they weren't so much? And her parents, yeah, not a fan of the way they approached it. I felt it was “eh, we suppose you can do it. But only if...”
While I very much understood the anxiety and not wanting to make a fuss over yourself; I felt like she could've... spoken up a bit more regarding her parents and cheer squad?
All in all, this was an incredibly cute graphic novel, very expressive with the faces – which, even though I'm not an artist at all – for me that's important. And I got that here.
Yes, very cute little romance with some drama to it. Perfect for a YA audience and especially those in the LGBTQ+ community.
Illustrations are nice too!
So sweet and affirming. I loved how the story addressed allyship and all the ways that can look/should look. Bright and engaging art throughout.
[3.5] huge respect to the creators for shining a spotlight on the struggles trans people have to deal with, especially once they're out! i do wish the story were longer for the sake of relationship and (secondary) character development—Bebe and her family, mainly her dad, finally being on the same page felt a bit incomplete to me—but still a powerful sapphic graphic novel in and of itself

CW: Transphobia, Sexual Harassment, and Fatphobic remarks.
This was so cute! I really enjoyed my time reading this. It was so nice to see a plus sized main character that is athletic and doesn't give af. I loved Annie and BeBe so much. I loved the way their friendship blossomed into a relationship. And how they always had each other's backs to peoples hateful remarks towards the other. I also really liked how this showed that all bodies are healthy and can be active.
But i feel like it was too short and most of the problems they were presented with were resolved too quickly. Some of the cheerleaders made some transphobic comments and microaggressions and we never got to see them apologizing. We can just see that they do grow from that and learn to truly accept BeBe. I just wish we could've seen more.
Overall, I definitely recommend this graphic novel its wholesome, has great representation, and has a great message.

I loved the artwork! Very vibrant. I enjoyed the cute fluff. The conflict in this was minimal. I felt relaxed while reading this. I enjoyed the queer representation even if this felt a bit rushed.

i'm thankful that i received an ARC in exchange of an honest review, all the opinions are mine.

i truly don't even know where to start and i mean this in the best possible way.
you had me at queer romance but i got so much more than i expected and i couldn't be happier! i loved it so so so much and i highly recommend it.
the story is heartwarming, adorable and wholesome and it follows two teenage girls that couldn't be more different finding themselves and each other. the representation is amazing, as annie is a lesbian and beebee is a trans sapphic and the story does a great job dealing with queer issues while still maintaining the vibes of a rom com. i live for fluffy lgbtq+ content because i feel like it's needed to contrast the bury your gays trope. i fell in love with the characters and their uniqueness and the fact that they're so real and relatable.
ati times i felt like it was a bit fast paced considering it was a graphic novel and maybe it was partly because i was enjoying it too much but the ending left me wanting more. the story fell into place nonetheless and i loved every moment i spent reading it. i'm hoping for a sequel because i'd love to see what's next in the protagonists' lives, but the ending scene was the perfect way to end this beautiful story.
