Chaos at the Lazy Bones Bookshop
2024 • 257 pages

This was....not good. For the first 1/4 I thought it might be some kind of advertisement for a real town. She went into so much detail about every location, every interaction and the festival. I actually did google to see if this was a real festival. And then everything was just either boring or haphazard. The “love interest” just pops up all of sudden, more than halfway through the book with background info on a suspect because he happened to see her write the suspects name down on a pad of paper? There wasn't much character development. She just plopped a ton of names in the book, but didn't really flesh any of them out. She spent so much time focusing on describing all the events for the book festival, but none of her characters.
