Chainsaw Man, Vol. 1: Dog and Chainsaw

From an objective standpoint, this has everything a successful shounen would need. A unique enough world, cool action and fight scenes, strong characters, even a cute pet.

But personally, I can tell this series would just not be for me. Only seven chapters in and the undertones with Makima and Denji's relationship (which I KNOW are on purpose and part of the story) make me extremely uncomfortable and I wouldn't be able to read a whole series full of them. I also don't really like how they're centering most of Denji's character around just being a perv, even if he is a teenager (I don't know if that's confirmed in the manga but he gives off teenager energy). It's just a tired trope and I don't want to read more of it.

So yeah, not for me.
