pretty cover syndrome will never not get my ass

this is kinda campy, kinda cheesy, but a lot better than i remember from my first read back in 2018. scarlett is not as annoying, tella is not as bad, their dad still sucks ass... crazy how things change when i actually take my time to read books. absolute hater energy on 2018 me rn.

Original 2018 Review:

Caraval was pretty good, but definitely not what I was expecting.

Before I actually start talking about this book, I just want to mention a few things:

First of all, this book is pretty as hell. Stephanie Garber got blessed by the ~book aesthetics god~ or something.

Second, I just want to mention a personal fault of mine: I read this too fast. I believe that if I had read this slower and hadn't rushed to finish it, I would've enjoyed this more.

Okay, so I didn't really like the main character. At first, I thought she was just a plain old regular main character you see in every book, and then I read on... And then I thought, “Holy shit, I've found a main character who's more air-headed than Audrey Rose Wadsworth.”

and I'm not gonna talk about Tella because I don't like her either fight me
