It isn't bad but I'm bored and the writing style is making it difficult to connect to the characters. It gives a detached feeling. I don't really understand the importance of this fake boyfriend thing since it wasn't really HIM, but a made up boyfriend based off of him i.e. canadian hockey player named Mike.
Then it was little things too like he mentions how he hates liars, but he is lying to her about the car he bought specifically for her to use and her weird deal with money – a headlight burnt out on the car that is NOTHING to do with the driver, so why would she pay for it and not want to be reimbursed??? Honestly, it just feels like a “not like other girls obsessed with rich dudes” thing.
And honestly Little House on the Prairie??? Really?? in 2024??? An 11 year old girl is obsessed with Fuller House and won't watch anything else, but wow for some reason introducing her to LHotP totally works and she loves it? Why? We really couldn't think of anything more recent or you know not racist? Also, Rory is 29– why are they dancing to 80s music and not 90s or 00s music? All of this just makes everything seem way outdated.
But there are a few good things. Good therapy rep (MMC in therapy), the talk about FMC's eating disorder seemed well done, and... there were a few sweet or funny moments.
