Butcher & Blackbird

This is a tough one for me to rate.

I loved the story, I loved the characters, the spice, the chemistry, the banter. The voices on the audiobook fit perfect.

However, with how good all that was, this is the book that has solidified for me that Dark Romance, with killings detailed is not the genre for me.

I don't mind the idea of the MCs being serial killers, I think it makes for an interesting story. However, what isn't for me, is the detail and time given to detail those acts.

I am torn on whether to continue the serious, as I'm deeply invested in the characters, but I don't know if I want that detailed darkness for another book.

If that is your jam though, this is likely a 5 star read. Even for me that didn't like a large part of the book due to the content, I couldn't not give it 4 stars.
