The engineering stuff was good, but the constant “I”, “I”, “I” was way too much.

Wonderful book. I learned a lot about structures and materials. Well written and clear in it's description of civil engineering projects and their importance.
Highly reccomended.

Overall, a basic understanding of math, geometry, and physics would be helpful. It's billed as a layman's book but I found my eyes glaze at all the technical aspects of buildings. Not what I expected.
