A brave and horrifying story about how Rachel and many of her family members managed to escape from the control of Warren Jeffs. It's not a fun read, but it is fascinating to see how people can become so trapped, through fear and shame and and more tangibly through separating loved ones and limiting access to education and independence. Plus concrete walls and surveillance.

I'm glad she's out and I'm sorry for those that remain entrenched. You can tell she was motivated to publish this book in the hopes of reaching some of them.
