This book seemed to tell rather than show. It felt like it was a YA novel with curse words thrown in once in a while.This is the first Audible.com book I have read by [a:Douglas Richards 652663 Douglas Richards https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png], and the almost sing songy reading by the narrator, Adam Verner, probably contributed a big part of the YA feel of this book.I will read more from this author, but not listen to another book narrated by Verner.

The author put a lot of research into this series. I especially like the section at the end where he gives some details about what was accurate, what was extrapolated from trends, and what was imaginary. Personally, I don't see any possibility that ESP can exist, let alone be the perfect ESP that is used in the story. In his imaginary world, the internet is faster and covers more territory than I think is possible - and somehow they never have to pay an ISP for connectivity. The issues raised and discussed regarding advancing technology, declining privacy, and ethics are worth reading.

A fantastic follow up to the first book. The story goes in directions entirely unexpected given where book one left off. That said, the plot was creative and engaging. I can't wait to read book #3!
