Bone Crossed

This book is good. Fast paced.

The running theme of the Mercy Thompson books is that there are consequences for everything. While recovering from the end of Iron Kissed, the events of Blood Bound come back to bite Mercy. Quite literally, given that the vampires are gunning for her this time. She's not quite back to the sass level from the first two books, but she's getting there, and I hope her mom (and her pretty pink gun) get more screen time in future books.

Jeez.... this really does keep getting better. I am running THROUGH this series and I CANNOT get enough! Stefan is <3 I just love him so much. I hope we see him appear soon. It is difficult because there are so many characters haha.

I skipped on the third book because I was so tired of all that Adam/Samuel/Stefan/andWhoKnowsWhoElse-drama. But Mercy finally chose one of them and the story was just funny to read. And I really liked the ghoust-hunting part. Even of there wasn't much of it.

I continue to love this series too much for words. The fleshed out world is fantastic, but so are the small details. Things such as Mercy's ever faithful fae stick that not only follows her around because it likes her, but becomes a weapon to save her at the most opportune moments. It's that attention to detail that makes stories like this transcend the genre that it's placed in. I've read reviews where people didn't think the handling of Mercy's trauma was realistic, but I think it was handled masterfully and the way in which it was hypothesized to become better, with the use of pack magic makes sense not only in respect to clinically that being the sense of support survivors need...but also in respect to Mercy's own past where she wants to be accepted. Also, I can't forget Stefan who I come to love more and more as the series progresses enough so that I hope the author introduces a love interest for him because he deserves it. He's so unfailingly loyal to both Mercy and Marsilia in a very admirable way. There's so many other things I can mention about how great this series continues to be, but I'll leave those as my stand out comments.

I love this series!!

I absolutely love Mercy's attitude and sarcasm. Reading her quips and thoughts makes me laugh and grin every time. I also give a great amount of respect to Patricia Briggs for not turning her books into only about romance and sex. She skims over sex scenes artfully with barely any detail. Perfect! She focuses on her story and plot. Learning more about Walkers in this book intrigued me and also learning more about the manipulative ways of the local vampire seethe. Briggs made sure to have an even blend of all the supernatural creatures in this one and she never fails to impress me with more tidbits being thrown out about each.
