Bloodstone

Wow! Another beautifully written YA Fantasy. I was not expecting to get lost in this story so easily, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I really enjoyed it.

I LOVE that this has magic mirrors. They are always fun for me and Esme is a wonderful character. I also loved the incorporation of crystals. I can't remember the last fantasy I read where they are used in this way. Very creative and a great addition to the overall story.

Amelina is wonderful and is an ever-changing character. Most often, when a character is having a coming-of-age journey, a lot can fall to the wayside. With Amelina that doesn't happen and I really enjoyed how well-rounded her story was.
