Whenever I read a book by Renée Watson I'm always left just reflecting on my life as a black girl, and the little experiences that I've gone through turning out not to be a unique experience to just me, but just an experience unique to the black girl as a whole. 

This is an amazing collection of poems on the black girl experience. I highly recommend this to those who need that reassurance, that extra push in life, and need to feel seen in their experiences.
