I'll admit straight off that I am a sucker for supernatural stories with romance in them. This one fits right in. Elena Michaels is the only female werewolf in existence, making her something of a legend in the werewolf world. But she was forced into it, having been bitten by her lover. This book chronicles her struggle in deciding: does she accept what she is and live with the werewolves at Stonehaven, or does she shun her true nature and forge a life for herself outside of the pack?

Within merely a few chapters I was already rooting for the wolf pack to win her over. The dynamic between them, the emotion and interaction of the pack members, was so believable and so familial that it seemed the obvious choice. I had trouble caring when her Toronto boyfriend Philip called, and I did not fault her for forgetting to call him back. I genuinely worried for pack members who got themselves in trouble. This book really packs a punch, and sucks you right in!

I finished this book in a day, pretty much unable to put it down. I'll be looking into other books by the author.
