Beyond Shame

Pois é, se há livros que têm tudo para dar certo para se gostar deles e depois não gosto, há outros que parecem condenados ao insucesso e revelam-se uma boa surpresa. “Beyond Shame” foi o perfeito exemplo dessa segunda situação. Sabia que este era um livro auto-publicado e que a dupla de autoras utilizam o pseudónimo “Kit Rocha” para este tipo de livros eróticos. Logo aí elementos suficientes para me deixar de pé atrás. No entanto este não é apenas mais um livro “feito a metro” para publicação online como muitos que agora existem. Estou a falar de um livro erótico sim, mas com uma linguagem e ritmo eróticos como há muito tempo já não lia, talvez desde os tempos da leitura do “Delta de Venus” de Anaïs Nin. E tremo com a comparação, porque Nin está num pedestal a que é difícil ascender. Como me atrevo eu com uma distopia erótica a fazer tal coisa?
Talvez o melhor é esquecer mesmo que é uma “distopia” e que os personagens são, na sua maioria, “membros de um gang”. Tudo isso são cenários, como sempre o são em literatura deste género. Apesar desses cenários, é conseguido um enredo relativamente complexo, que tem Noelle e a sua integração no gang como fio condutor da história, e todo um conjunto de personagens que fazem parte desse gang. Apesar dos clichés este é um livro que está acima da média de muita literatura erótica que está actualmente a ser publicada.

Listened for the audible romance challenge, category Dystopian. Really liked this one, will be listening to the rest of the series in the near future. It's fun how this challenge opens you up to sub genres in the romance genre you might normally not read or listen to so fast.

this will be the second time that I read the first 6 books of this series. I recommended this gem to a girlfriend of mine and decide I would read them again.

This is a really juicy , erotic read that keeps you interested with it's interesting , likable characters. All the Action , suspense and the drama that invades their lives.
I loved how Noelle starts off as a shy innocent girl and once she finds her own sense of freedom ,she becomes a strong independent woman , and no man ,including the man she falls for Jasper can take that from her ,even in a place like Eden or Sector four.
Jasper is a cage fighter , that will defend the O'Kane gang with his very life , but you could tell as soon as this ruthless man set eyes on Noelle , even knowing who her father is and where she came from that he was a goner . He will have her , but at his pace and without strings .

Lets face it all of these characters are Damn Hot in this book and I cant wait to read the whole series again to get to know them all over and finish out strong!
