My first Kate Atkinson and certainly not the last. “Behind the Scenes at the Museum” is cleverly constructed — maybe too clever, if literary excess isn't your thing — with whip-smart prose to boot, that I didn't realize it would break my heart until I was already crying.

Loved this book. Will definitely read more by this author.

Immersive and beautifully written. So happy to finally have gotten around to reading Atkinson. Can't wait to explore more.

An interesting read, although all the flashbacks can get confusing. The saga of Ruby Lennox is at times hilarious, and at times depressing. The author seems like it she trying to tackle too much - too many characters, too many writing styles, too many points of view. But still worthwhile.
