Ask Again, Yes

It was fine, but I have read novels that are better written about family dysfunction and how one act can resonate across generations. There was one chapter that truly engaged me for personal reasons, but during most the book I felt somewhat emotionally removed from the characters. I'm not sorry I read it, but I don't agree with some critics who are putting it on their Best of 2019 lists.
