Around the World in Eighty Days

I was seduced by the excellent retro cover on this Penguin Classics edition of Around the World in 80 Days - the whole set look great, but I don't need more difficult to track down books to find cheaply...

This is a great old book (1872 it was first published), and you can see how publishing it in monthly installations (as it was) would hook his readers into the great voyage. It reads this way with each chapter title teasing the content, and more often than not a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter. Interesting characters - particularly their contrasts from the calm and collected Fogg to the hot-headed Passepartout, with the single minded Mr Fix.

No plot outlines - it has been done well enough in the blurb.
