3.5. At the end a pretty simple story wrapped in an amazingly convoluted form. As with other Stephenson's books, the ideas are the core of the book and in this case the interesting part is the basis of the whole concept of a world organised very similarly to ours, yet totally different. This part is also the problem I have with the book. It really is not easy to go through some of its parts where the characters are debating about theoretical concepts using invented words. It does great for the world building but not it's digestibility. I see it as a rather personal impression though.
