All the Feels

Wow, this was a big disappointment after Dade's enjoyable [b:Spoiler Alert 50496918 Spoiler Alert (Spoiler Alert, #1) Olivia Dade https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1584239588l/50496918.SY75.jpg 75471187]. I didn't think Alex's “I'm just joking” put-downs of Lauren were funny or endearing, and I didn't feel any real chemistry between the two. But what really dragged me down was the constant reminders that Lauren is fat and funny looking, and it's her destiny to be a target of ridicule for her looks and body size. If I were a young woman with any doubts about her appearance reading this book, I would be devastated by its message: people will make fun of you, but if you're lucky you will find someone who will love you anyway. Instead of being a body-positive book, All the Feels made me sad.
