Well, I couldn't just end at Full Tilt, even though I was devastated by Jonah's death. But by the end, I knew where we going and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Kind of like Beverly and Oscar–confused but understandable? Still, it's well written and a good end to Kacey and Teddy's story.
This year I am working on getting through series that I have started but have yet to finish and this was one that was on that ever growing list. This review is going to be spoilery. I can't talk about this book without spoiling things for the first book so if you haven't read it yet I highly suggest you skip this review.
After finishing the first book I was skeptical about the relationship in this book. Jonah and Kacey were an item in the first book and if you've read that book you know Jonah died at the end of that one. This book is about everyone's grief and how they move forward. Theo is Jonah's brother and that is the reason I was skeptical. I wasn't sure if I could get on board with her moving on with Jonah's brother but luckily it worked for me. I never felt cringy about it.
The majority of this book is about Kacey and Theo and their grief and how they are coping with things. The relationship slowly build throughout but it takes a backseat to their grief. That is my biggest complaint. I knw they had to grieve but I would have like more of their romance. As it is it kind of seemed rushed in the end.
I did enjoy this book but the first one hooked me more than this one did. Maybe it's because it was a bit of a downer book and I wanted something more upbeat I don't know. I will definitely read more by this author in the future.
