It was my first encounter with Susan Elizabeth Phillips' book. And I fell in love with it. I like the way she build up her characters and the way she told her stories. The dialogues are often funny and witty, yet the story is charming.
I'm so speechless into oblivion, I'm shocked.
To be fair I don't really like these types of heroine because I've been through stuff the heroine did back when I was at the darkest days of my highschool, in fact I should revel the fact that she's being spit and kicked in the face when she returned to her hometown, but you know what? she's so fucking endearing to me and so headstrong and fiesty - I WANTED TO WRING HER NECK DUE TO HER STUBBORNNESS AND AT THE SAME TIME HUG HER AND COMFORT HER ITS INSANE ACTUALLY-(things I don't actually like in a heroine because they tend to be really annoying to me sometimes but sometimes it works) but for HER??? MS SUGAR BETH ISTG I WOULD ACTUALLY LET HER BE MY FRIEND NOT EVEN KIDDING. AND EVERY CHARACTER HAS CHARMS THEIR LITTLE HOMETOWN IS SOMETHING I WANT TO LIVE IN IM SO HAPPY I READ THIS KENFRJFNKJENRFE
And don't get me even started on Colin, I AM DEVASTATED I WANT HIM PLEASEEEEE ONLY ONE CHANCE WITH HIM I WOULD HAVE LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR THIS MAN (ADDING TO THE FACT THAT BOTH OF THEM HAD CHEMISTRY EVEN IN THE FIRST CHAPTER INSANE BECAUSE HELLO??? THE FUCKING TENSION AND INSULTS AND BANTER THEY THROW I LOVE IT)
ALSO THE REDEMPTION ARC WE ALL LOVE UGH, SEP NEVER DISAPPOINTS! SHE KNEW WHAT I WANT AND SHE OPENED A GENRE I'M ACTUALLY LEERY OF AND FUCKING ENJOYED IT. THIS ONE IS FOR THE BOOKS!
