A Hero's Promise

I didn't realize until I was a third of the way in that I'd read this quickly last year and had a hard time making sense of what was going on. Since then I've read and enjoyed the first Culper Ring book, and suddenly I understood what was going on. 3 stars first reading, 4 stars second. I'd highly recommend reading at least one other of the Culper books before this short story.
Very pleasant tale of a quick spy mission.
