2 stars filled with bitter disappointment after the author tossed me a bone and told me to either swallow or choke on it
It's not that the book is bad or atrocious, I've read way worse, it's the way the author chooses to tell the story that has robbed me of any interest I had in the characters.
As some other reviews stated, if book one didn't exist this would make for a way better read. As it stands i couldn't care less about any of the characters because the author certainly doesn't.
The discarded toy that is tamlin continues to get used to build up Rhys as the one true love and it feels lazy and lacklustre. Everything tamlin's character was gets tossed out the window, like it was all some fever dream or mirage. With the way he was basically a silent prop in the background for the second half of book one it doesn't surprise me, but I'm still disappointed.
