A Bend in the Road

This year I am working through my backlist of unread Nicholas Sparks books and this was one of them. We all know by now that Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author and I love everything I have read by him so far. So giving this 3 stars pains me. 3 stars isn't bad by no means. I still really enjoyed reading this but it lacked the normal hold on me the his books usually have.

The first half was all about Miles' growing relationship with Sarah and the last half was about an investigation into Miles' late wife's death. The first half moved steadily along but the last half felt really rushed. I loved the relationship but I wasn't as invested in it like I usually am with the romances in his books.

I guessed the mystery of who killed his wife really early on. It was between 3 people for me but I kept coming back to the one and I was right.

The romance was cute but I just didn't get sucked in like I usually do. Like I said 3 stars isn't a bad rating I still really enjoyed reading this but I guess I just expected more which is why I am so sad to be giving one of his books a 3 store because he mostly gets 5 stars from me and some 4 star rating.
