As enjoyable as the previous book. The ending seems like a cliff-hanger to me.
Great premise and an incredible story, but far to much was verbatim from the other books in the series.
The idea of space elevators is absolutely marvelous... The fact that almost all the concepts in the 3rd Millennium take their names from various widely-known 2nd millennium scientists made it seem like a scientific history novel of some kind + the sci-fi part that's like ketchup.
In short - Arthur Clarke is a GENIUS... and my guess is that there's nobody quite like him...
