An americana tell-tale heart with some bonnie and clyde thrown in.

Not his best work, and im of the opinion his shorter stories are consistently his best (ironically my favourite SK book is one of his longest). However, the disturbing and terrifying nature of the book is heavily offset by,quite frankly, how boring it is.

3/10 (better then the movie

read for the loser's club readathon 2022: the barrens & paul bunyan statue

i appreciate the story but i didn't connect to the time period and some of the ways the time period was contextualized (like slurs being used) was just unnecessary in this context
