Author Bio

I'm Iasmin Omar Ata — also known as Delta! — a comics artist, game developer, illustrator, animator, character & background designer, and sound designer who creates art with themes of self-acceptance, coping with illness, and the light of better futures. My newest graphic novel, NAYRA AND THE DJINN, is now in stores everywhere! (They/them pronouns, please!)

I'm an Ignatz Award winner and Excellence In Graphic Literature Award finalist; I’ve been interviewed & reviewed by Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, Electronic Intifada, Library Journal, Polygon, Famitsu, and NPR, just to name a few! I've worked with clients/groups such as Jackbox Games, Unity, L’Institut du Monde Arabe, Pillow Fight Games, PEN America, Art Palestine International, The Nib, and more; I’ve also guest lectured in storytelling-based classes and seminars at Harvard University, Johns-Hopkins University, Ohio State University, University of Maryland, along with many other schools and institutions. My work has been featured in multiple award-winning and nominated anthologies, and showcased in galleries, conferences, and seminars all around the world — including France, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Palestine.

Dedication and dreams are my lifeblood, and I believe wholeheartedly in the healing power of comics, games, and all forms of art that encourage us all to keep going every day. I love working with others to create fun & kind things, so let’s make powerful things together!
