Born in Brampton, Ontario, Annabel Lyon studied music, philosophy, and law before publishing two short story collections, Oxygen and The Best Thing for You, both of which were highly successful in Canada. Her first novel, The Golden Mean, published in more than twenty countries, won the Rogers Writers' Trust Prize and was a finalist for both the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Governor General’s Literary Award. She lives in British Columbia with her husband and two children.
