Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing this arc!
Riley Sager is back! This is a great, fast paced, mystery that is reminiscent of Agatha Christie. If you go into his book expecting a thriller with his usual twists you may be disappointed. This was the perfect old fashioned mystery set on a train in 1954. Even though the book takes place in the winter it was still a great beach read. I read it in one day!
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Audio for the ALC.
This was cute, entertaining, lighthearted mystery. As much as one can be with murder involved. This was my first Laura Lippman so I didn't know until the author's note that this was a character from another series. The one thing that I found a bit annoying was how she was always talking about her weight, to everybody, even strangers. As a fat person myself I found it a bit too much. The narrator did an amazing job with the story. I found it very easy to listen to.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Audio for this ALC.
This book is the perfect summer read. It is so much fun. It has more twists and turns throughout the story then a hula-hoop contest. A comedy of errors and miscommunication and very fast paced. The narrators, Kiiri Sandy; John Pirhalla, did an amazing job with this production.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Audio for the ALC.
Nikki Erlick did it again with another thought provoking novel. We all experience grief differently, but what if you didn’t have to experience it at all? This book explores the concept of healing grief through sleep.
The cast of narrators did an amazing job.
Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC!
This is the perfect summer thriller/mystery! Jamie Day does domestic thriller to a tee! The narrators Lisa Larsen and Phoebe Strole did an amazing job. The character development was just ok and that is what kept it from being a 5 star in my opinion.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an ALC.
This book was a bit of a slow burn, very atmospheric and creepy, and it paid off in the end. I loved the Gothic feel of this story and the narrators (Helen Baxendale; Jamie Glover; Sarah Pinborough) did an amazing job.
If you are looking for a good haunted house story, this is it!
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for this ALC.
This is probably my least favorite S.A. Cosby book to date. Although it was well written and tragic, I just could not bring myself to be interested in these characters. The narrator Adam Lazarre-White did an amazing job with the audio book and brought all the characters to life.
Thank you to netgalley and blackstone publishing for the ALC.
This is one of those rare cases where the sequel is better than the original. Even if the twists were kind of predictable, I still enjoyed the game of cat and mouse. The pace seemed fast and it definitely had some darkness.
The narration was spot on in this audio book.
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for this ALC.
This was my first Alex North novel and probably not my last. This was a very dark and twisty tale. I liked that it had the POV of both current time and the past. It helped shape the story. It does have multiple POV's but I found them all easy to follow. Talk about a lot of trauma! The beginning is a bit of a slow burn, but worth it.
The narrator did an amazing job.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Audio for the ALC.
This was a quick and cute spring romance read. The narrator Amanda Stribling did a good job with the narration. I had a hard time connecting to the main characters, but I loved the small town setting. Not a lot of meat to the story, but still a fun read (listen).
Thank you to Hachette audio and Netgalley for this ALC. This was so much fun. If you are a fan Seven Days in June you will like this book.
I am a huge fan of Seven Days in June and Tia Williams, so I was excited to find out Audre would be getting her own romance novel. I loved the fun banter between Audre and Bash.
The narrators did a great job with the audio book, although some times the kids sounded a little too adult.
An easy, fun read for the summer!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Alex Finlay for the ALC.
Brittany Pressley did an amazing job with the narration of this novel. Her voice was very easy to listen to.
This is a good popcorn thriller. The story pulls you in right away and has plenty of action. Unfortunately I feel as if there were a few too many characters to keep straight, but after a bit it gets easier.
The story follow 5 missing students at a college campus and all of their family drama. There is also a crossover character from a previous book, but you don't need to read that book to read this book. There is not a big twist at the end of the book, but it wraps up with a satisfying ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ALC.
This was my first time reading Timothy Janovsky and it won't be the last. I love a good fake dating trope and this one didn't disappoint. A little too insta love, but it fit the story.
The narrator started out a bit off to me, but by midway I was really enjoying his voice and the voices he created.
Thank you Netgalley, Debbie Macomber and Harper audio for the audio book.
This was a quick and easy book to listen to, the narrator did an amazing job. As I have found with a few of Debbie's earlier works, the content is a bit questionable and didn't stand up with time. Unfortunately, racism is still very rampant, and an interracial marriage such as this one probably would still be looked down upon by certain people.
Thank you Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, and Samantha Crewson for this ALC!
It is hard to believe this is their debut book! It was well written and a very intriguing story. I love a messed up family dynamic. The book is dark and bitter and deals with some trigger warning topics, but it is done in a sensitive way. Most of the characters were unlikable, but in a likable way, if that masks any sense.
The narration was just perfect for this audiobook.
Thank you to Ashley Winstead, Sourcebooks LLC, and NetGalley for my ALC of This Book Will Bury Me!
Although the book started a little on the slower side, it had me hooked pretty early on. I always forget how much I enjoy true crime and true crime based fiction. It had all the twists and turns to keep me guessing and interested.
I thought Leslie Howard did an amazing job with the narration and Ashley Winstead's writing was incredible.
Thank you to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for the ALC!
The narration by Lisa Zimmerman was good. The story it's self did not stand up to the test of time.
Although it was a quick and easy listen/read. The premise (which sounded good) gave me the ick in how it was delivered. Both main characters seemed very wishy washy and I didn't believe the insta love from either of them.
I usually enjoy Debbie Macomber's books, but this one just didn't hit.
Contains spoilers
Thank you NetGalley for the audio ALC of this book.
A quick and easy read with a marriage of convenience trope mixed with a friends-to-lovers trope. This isn't a new novel from Debbie Macomber, but the audio is new. If you are looking for an easy read this is it, although the lack of communication got a bit tiring by the end.
Lisa Zimmerman’s narration was perfect and made the book easy to listen to.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of the audiobook.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Alex Picard and Lee Samuels. They did an amazing job on their POV chapters and the various voices. I ate this story up all in one sitting.
This was the perfect ending to a very enjoyable series. In this book you will find the sister of best friend troupe, closed door romance, PCOS and infertility topics, and divorce topics.
I love that the MMC was a total golden retriever and was referenced to look like Kristoff from frozen.
I received this book via NetGalley and HarperCollins Christian Publishing | Thomas Nelson Fiction as an ARC. This review is my own opinion of the book.
This is a wonderful, heartwarming, and fun story. It did not feel as much romance to me as it did coming of age. It is perfect for those who do not like spice in their romances.
I thought I would list the topes, when it comes to contemporary romance books I find them very helpful.
-Workplace romance
- Forced proximity
- Friends to lovers
- He falls first
First I want to thank both Netgalley and Macmillan audio for the early listener copy of this audiobook.
This is the perfect summer rom-com. Katherine Center has hit it out of the park again. This was fun and a quick listen. I consumed it in one day.
I am giving it 4 stars rounded up to a 4.5. It would of been a 5 star, but I wasn't a fan of the way the body positivity was presented. I almost felt like she was too in her head about her looks and weight. As someone who has delt with weight issues most of her adult life it bothered me. That being said make sure to pick this up as quick beach read this summer.
Expected release date 5/20/2025
Thank you to Netgalley and MacMillan audio for an early listening copy of this amazing novel.
Can you say daddy issues? Both main characters have them! This was the perfect chase style thriller/horror novel mixed with total 80's vibe monster movie feel. It was an interesting take on how fear can take control of your life.
I listened to this in one sitting on 2x speed and loved every minute of it.
I thought this was a cute fake marriage story. I especially loved all the cute notes they exchanged! I’m a big fan of the plus-size FMC and golden retriever MMC. I liked that there was a real reason why they faked their marriage, so it didn’t seem forced. This is probably my favorite trope, and this book is worth the read!
Thank you NetGalley, Macmillan audio, and St. Martins Griffin for the ARC.
