I’m not sure I’ve ever read a character piece of such depth and make no mistake, this is a character piece through and through. While there is certainly some action and developing plot lines, the main focus is on who Fitz is and how he fits into this world. If the whole trilogy is like this first one, I’m very excited for the ride.

Much like the first one in this series, this is just a nice, short listen. I'm less sold on Zachary Quinto as the narrator though. There just wasn't a lot of depth to his performance and everyone just sorta sounded like Zachary Quinto.

I don't know that there was anything inherently wrong with this book, but it just didn't grip me the same way the first couple in the series did. There was some cool lore going on and some interesting scenarios, but I just wasn't fully engaged. Still a fun read.
