Probably one of my least favorite Sanderson books, but still wonderful. I found myself a bit lost or uninterested at times, but it still had a satisfying ending.
Incredibly engaging story setting up a world I can't wait to get back into in the next book in the series.
I only wish the romantic interest didn't resolve itself the way it did, but otherwise it was excellent.
A great story that really explains to me (an outsider) some of the sayings people have about Alaska living. I really loved the amount of thought and time that went into the resolutions after the main conflict completed.
I had tears a few times, and leapt up a couple others. Incredibly moving story.
I started this book and the first 100 pages had me disliking every characters. Thankfully everything began to pick up, and as stories began to unravel I connected more with them and was really interested in how things ended.
Really interesting start to the series. I came in thinking this would be focused on space battles, and instead we get a lot of traveling story and political intrigue. Though I also see space battles on the horizon for future books.
I'm certainly interested in seeing where this goes.
Similar to all of Lowell's books, incredibly fast story that sets the stage for the later books. I can't ever explain how, but the book doesn't do very much, but has so much going on, background, and character development that it feels like it's flying along.
I absolutely loved this book. I had a bit of a hard time following who was who at some points, especially as more characters were added and tracking on Korean and Japanese names, but somehow I still had it together in the end and felt incredibly connected to most of the characters.
Great addition to the series. I loved getting a look into life after Eragon, and following a rider that isn't perfect or all powerful.
I loved the characters, and having a very light story kicking off a longer series about outcasts.
Great story winding different cultures and goals together along with a satisfying conversation about grace filled love.
Great, fast, fun lighthearted story of life after dungeon crawling. I'm always a sucker for strong, unbreakable friendships.
This felt more like a mystery or suspense for a while and I kept wondering what would be coming next.
The book was great, though too much ‘romantic interest' for the first 3/4. Then the romantic interest resolves into some more graphic sex, and the two main characters can't seem to function without thinking about live and relationship. It generally ruined the book for me.
Pretty engaging story with a lot going on. I don't think I saw the ending coming, but there sure were enough hints that I wasn't surprised in the end.
Lots of short stories of grief and wanting brought together into a wider whole. Excellent, emotional time.
