I read about half of this book before giving up. Too gross, too stupid, too unreadable. Sad, too, because Chuck Palahniuk is one of my favorite authors. I'm very disappointed in this “effort.”
I didn't learn much more from the reading the book than I did watching the documentary. It's still a very good read, however, and captures the length some people will go to in order to deceive others and get attention.
This is MUCH more informative than JVM's book. Even though I watched the trial and followed the case closely, there were plenty of details in here that were news to me. I also like that the author didn't constantly insert her opinion throughout the book. She stuck to the facts. She did, however, give her thoughts on the case in the afterword. If you're going to read a book about Jodi Arias, I'd definitely recommend this one over JVM's.
This was an interesting read, there was a bit of information about the case I wasn't aware of, but I also did a lot of skimming because I knew most of the details.
This isn't a book, but a 25 page short story that was a freebie download from barnes and noble. Just a quickie story to kill some time. It wasn't fantastic, but I've read worse.
This book wasn't really even worth picking up. There were only a few stories in it that I found worth reading.
I started this book Friday evening & it's Sunday afternoon & I just finished it. I never read 500 page books this quickly. I loved the book. My only complaint is that it did get a bit repetitive, constantly reading about how beautiful Edward is. I understood that after I read it the first 15 times
This book took a really long time for me to get into, but once it picked up, it was really hard to put down. All in all, a good read.
This book was a nice, if predictable, read. It's certainly not anything memorable, but it's definitely worthy of 2 stars.
This was a very quick read; I read it in one sitting. It was laugh-out-loud funny. Great book.
This book was okay, not great, just okay. I didn't particularly connect with any of the characters and while the story did keep me interested, I didn't care for how it ended. I don't think I'll be reading the prequel/sequels (unless I can pick them up as cheaply - $1.99 - as I did this one.)
This is the second book I've read by Chelsea Handler. While I didn't find this one as hilarious as My Horizontal Life (this one didn't make me laugh out loud nearly as much as MHL), it's still definitely worth reading. I highly recommend it.
The first two books in the series were decent - I liked them actually. I didn't like Eclipse at all. I'm only reading now for the sake of completing the saga.
This was a Barnes & Noble Free Fridays selection back in September that I've just got around to reading. While it is book 7 in the series, the author provides enough back story that it's very easy to follow along. I love her writing style as well as the characters in the book. I would definitely be interested in going back and reading the previous 6 books in this series.
This wasn't the best book I've read, but not the worst either. It did seem to drag in spots and I felt like every other page I was reading about a kid on a hoverboard. It got a bit repetitive. I didn't find myself drawn to any of the characters or even particularly liking any of them/caring what happened to them. The book has an interesting concept, but for me it didn't really get interesting until the “truth about being pretty” was revealed to Tally. That being said, since I already own the next two books, I'll read those. Otherwise, I wouldn't read them.
I gave this book 250 pages and I couldn't keep reading. After the travesty the author called a second book, I hoped this one would be better. No such luck. The only good thing about this whole series is the first book (Matched) and the covers of all three books.
I read through this whole book in less than 24 hours. Just like other V.C. Andrews books I've read, it was a great read. I can't wait to get through the rest of the books in this series.
All I can say is thank heavens I'm finished with this book. It could be read in one sitting, but it was so mind-numbingly boring that I couldn't do it. The characters were unlikeable, undeveloped, and honestly, hard to distinguish from the “cadavers.” Yes, cadavers, corpses, bodies, whatever you want to call them - the author doesn't call them zombies. Whatever you call them, I was hoping they would attack the three characters this book centered on and take them - and me - out of our misery. I can't imagine reading the sequels to this book. I imagine grabbing the phone book and sitting down and reading it would make for better entertainment.
I've seen this movie quite a few times and I love it. I finally read the book and found that I love the book just as much. It's just a great read.
I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this book is. Tosca Lee has written a story so beautiful that I was wiping my tears by the last page. I am now 100% convinced that you're going to be hard-pressed to find an author that writes such beautiful descriptions and can tell a more wonderful story.
Thank goodness this was just a freebie download from b&n and I didn't pay for this trash. Nothing but absolute filth. It seems the “author” tried to throw some things in just for shock value. That, paired with poor spelling and grammar, made this a terrible read.
I'm really really liking this series. This book did kind of start moving slowly toward the end, however, IMO. I can't wait to get started on the next book.
This was a pretty good read. I haven't read all of the books in the series, but this one worked just fine on its own. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it seemed the author wrapped the book up too quickly at the end.
I absolutely LOVED this book and I LOVE Dennis Lehane's writing. I'm not sure what else there is to say. This was a wonderful continuance to Gone Baby Gone.
I found this one harder to get through; I don't know, I just had a harder time getting into it. But still, three stars from me.
