The paralells that can be drawn between the fictional world of Gilead and modern day life in many countries around the world is extremely thought provoking. The story makes you think long and hard about the everyday stuff that you take for granted.
Why this book?
I love the world that Tolkien creates through both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. I would love to live the life of a Hobbit, eating several breakfasts and just living a calm and relaxed life with no adventures.
