Great series

And now I need to re-read the other books - hardly a bad thing though! Hooray for Seanan McGuire and her writing speed!

Enjoyable geeky books.

One funny thing, though, is that I hit a mention of “Christie Campbell, the Vancouver Island enclave leader”, and immediately had to go check - and yes, the author is from British Columbia. A fun thing to toss in for fellow BC'ers!

Read because of the movie trailer, and liked it! If I was in the appropriate age group, I'd have loved it.

I loved Murderbot, I wish this book had been much longer, and I want to read more about “it”/them.

This book was amazing. Read it, to witness what these women went through.

Positive: I now know way more about salt in history than I ever imagined before.
Negative: I'm not sure I wanted to know quite that much about salt, and did the book really need to be quite that long?

More on the children's literature side of things, but enjoyable. Reminiscent of the Magicians of Caprona in some ways.

I was so surprised by some of the character actions on my first reading, that I didn't fully appreciate the book. I knew I'd like this book better on the second reading (which isn't to say that I didn't like it on the first reading, it was just it was more difficult to process).

Neil Gaiman's review of this book said: ““The Buried Giant” is an exceptional novel, and I suspect my inability to fall in love with it, much as I wanted to, came from my conviction that there was an allegory waiting like an ogre in the mist...“

I can think of no better review than those comments.

An old favourite - one of the great TOS authors.

An old favourite.

I enjoyed some sections very much. However, given that the Reader seems meant to be male, I didn't feel terribly welcome in some parts of the book.

This book seems to have turned into a comfort read.
