I love this so much!! The description of the horror scenes had me reading with my book at arms length. I held my breath and gasped. The characters are written in such a way that I was rooting for those I loved and despising those I didn't. Any book that evokes this much emotion in me can never be less than a 5 star.
I found the plot to be enjoyable although at times uncomfortable. I don't lessen my rating for this however as it is of the genre that uses shock value.

3.75* really interesting discussions around race and privilege. However, i couldn't stand any of the characters.
Im pretty sure I understand the plot of this book less now Ive finished it than i did before it started... the writing style is beautifully descriptive but too much so for me. It was very hard for me to feel invested in the characters because of that. Too much description not enough character development and growth. So much potential and i can see why some people absolutely love this book but i was left a little drained after finally getting through this one
Really unsure if i want to read the night circus after this??
I rate these books highly purely for the love i feel for the characters my god i would die for them 1000 times over
The romance wasn't really that believable to me and the plot was way too slow in parts overall this was fine enough for me to want to read the 3rd book
This book teaches you how to manipulate men but also how to put yourself first and that side of things I did need. However, after reading this i never want to date a man again
3.5* i really enjoyed this but i expected more from the romance and i feel like nothing really happened for 450 pages, im hoping the second one will give a lot more

Liked the pace of this book, i can definitely see why its been made into a tv show. I wanted a bit more from the ending though, its been tied in a nice little bow and hasnt left me wanting to immediately pick up the next book
