Ok I loved this!
I thought Gates was so charming and fun. Mildly ADHD but he has a good heart. I loved the pining he had for Tallahassee. Super endearing.
The secret marriage was a surprise, but added a fun element to the story.
They worked well together as a couple, and Tallahassee stood by Gates without being overbearing. He was always supporting and defending him.
While I enjoyed Wade, and his grumpy bossy attitude, Ivy was too annoying. That women giggled way too much for a grown adult in her late 20s.
Also way too much sex (hate to say it). It grew old how neither could go a couple hours without doing it somewhere.
The “mine” tattoo was slightly unhinged considering where they were at in their relationship but I dug it.
I don’t know if it’s the author for me or not, but I do not like the female characters she writes in this series. Both major and minor side ones were awfully irritating. Maybe I’m a hater.
Very enjoyable!
Neither MC has time for a relationship. They both own their business (mechanic bs vet) and are super busy. They want love and companionship but it just hasn’t worked out in the past.
They meet by chance, a couple times, as their large friend group intertwined (hello four bears construction!)
What’s meant to be will be. I thought they were very cute together. Steele is very possessive without being over bearing. Porter can do his own thing, as long as they bang it out first to ensure he remembers him the whole time. (As if porter could forget)
Contains spoilers
I adore Henri, and just want to give this giant marshmallow a squish… I couldn’t connect with him and Atlas as a couple.
Henri is so sweet and kind, a cinnamon roll golden retriever. Everything that is cute and wonderful.
Atlas is rude, giving standoffish black cat. Eventually we understand his motives, but I didn’t enjoy him for most of this story.
It’s explained that Henri is on the asexual spectrum, but Atlas isn’t. Not that is a reason they can’t be together but I generally only see them as “happy for now”.
Even in the epilogue, Henri had a ring ready for 2 years but didn’t propose because he didn’t know if Atlas was ready or was all in. After 5 years being together!!!! You should know if you’re all in with your partner after that long.
I absolutely love this series and am growing to love this author, but Henri and seeing previous couples in this universe were the only things I liked.
Saved the best for last!
I loved both MC’s so much, the absolute definition of grumpy sunshine.
Grumpy Griff didn’t realize how lonely and starved for affection he was until Ledger kind of bopped his way over into his life.
Ledger brought colour and smiles to Griff’s plain world.
They were so sweet, and both tried to “play it cool” and hold back but ledger understood griff in ways not many could.
The smut was smutty, the communication was chefs kiss, and the relationship was healthy.
Jessa and Aiden were cute and wholesome, but also sexy AF. This was the sweetest daddy kink book I’ve come across.
There was low angst while also having that good tension and conflict, plus no TAB which is always a win.
Had all the tropes, but just wasn’t into it as much as I was the others in this series.
Mitch was never the most interesting in the other books and that remained true in this one. He’s a big tall grumpy bear who owns a local bar and is loyal to his friends and loved ones but that’s really it.
Lots of surface no depth
All of this stars. It touched on some really tough topics, broke my heart, and put it back together again.
Maxyyyyy I love him so much. And Luke was so kind and gentle with him.
I adore this couple and I love this series so so much I don’t want it to end.
Would kill for an epilogue or bonus chapter, but this book was perfection so I’m not mad
Ash was SUCH a simp for Bridget I loved it
A classic reformed player; turned to be down bad for his dream girl. He caught a glimpse of her once and was obsessed ever since
Bridget just got out of a bad relationship and insists on being casual, but there is nothing casual about how they are together.
I loved them together, and Ash is def a favourite in this series
I thought this was so sweet!!
Zeke and Carter were so heartwarming! Carter was always so scowly, and zeke all smiles. He tried to get Carter to smile more, and when he did it was like winning the lottery.
I think both of them needed the other, and it happened at the perfect time in their life.
Zeke needed emotional connection before he felt a romantic connection, and it’s tricky to do since he is somewhat introverted.
Carter is used to people not liking him or wanting him or not showing up. He puts on a gruff exterior to kind of scare people away, but deeply just wants to feel loved and have someone be there and not let him down.
Nerd/jock, grumpy sunshine MM romance. Almost a slow burn but really low angst.
I liked the format of this book, and the premise of itself was unique compared to my normal reads. Unfortunately I was close to bored.
While suspenseful, and I didn’t know what to expect, it was a bit blah for me. I liked how it switched between present time first person, then third person documentary style. It was a cool concept!
I get why people could love it but it wasn’t my thing.
Kat and Heath was all kinds of toxic, as (seemingly) is the ice dancing and Olympic hopeful community. All sorts of crazy mean girls, sabotage, etc. while interesting, I also didn’t connect or care about them.
I ATE THIS UP.
so good!!!! My favourite of this series.
I loved the second chance and the GROVELLING was perfection.
My sweet heart swooned for Hayden. His mental health struggles and the way they talked about it was fabulous.
I just want to give Hayden and Jackson and those little kiddos a big group hug.
The FMC wasn’t likeable, MMC was a sweet cinnamon roll. He was just suddenly down to marry this girl he didn’t interact with much, felt the need to provide for her, and was all very insta lovey.
Jade’s reasoning for not wanting to be in a relationship was lack luster.
Ending felt rushed, but overall was light hearted contemporary marriage of convenience hockey romance
So fun and cute. I liked how the past bullying experience was handled, and not just swept under the rug. It was acknowledged and both MCs became better later on despite it.
I love when past nerdy quiet types become in positions of power later in life and can say f u im great now to their past.
Parker was a sweetheart. He was anxious and introverted, and simply lonely.
Connor was an overprotective big brother who took on too many responsibilities he assumed he needed to.
I think Parker settled him in ways, and I think Connor brought excitement into Parker’s life. A nice medley.
This unfortunately fell flat. I didn’t connect with either character, and I didn’t get any chemistry.
Quite unfortunate as I enjoyed the previous 2 books, but this one I felt quite bored for over 50% of it.
There were good moments, but overall i didn’t love.
I couldn’t even put my finger on what exactly was missing, but there were too many plot holes and time jumps for me to really give this a fair shot.
Being a 22 year old “nanny” to an 18 year old didn’t make sense to me.
Either did Piper enjoying wearing Tyler’s old sweaty workout shirts that smelt.
The found family in this series is great; and I liked most of the characters. Tyler was a total simp for Piper.
Just slightly missed the mark.
Also a LOT of the teammates being a little too obsessed with Tyler’s sister. Interested to see how that pans out in future books.
Ok who knew this spicy AF MMM romance would be so dang sweet!!!
I’ve been looking forward to Ben’s story for quite some time and it exceeded expectations.
Both of Ben’s love interests were his dad’s best friend, and they all work together.
He was seeing each of them separately, and then when all 3 finally got together it was fireworks.
Ben is suuuuuch a sex slut and we love that for him. He was needy and Cash and Ford worked damn hard to keep their man satisfied.
Some advice - don’t try to sneaky read this when at work because you WILL start ugly crying and it will be a thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was SOBBING. I never knew when/if one of the MC’s was going to relapse next.
the conflict between Jake and his brother CJ was so real.
Felix was such a sweet heart - a happy little energizer bunny - but with addiction and will power issues.
Jake and Felix struggled SO HARD. When they were good and happy it was so cute, and I couldn’t stop smiling. But one little slip of a mistake and it was down hill. Both had so many issues to work through.
The LETTER AT THE END. ALMOST ENDED ME.
The minor characters stood out as well - I felt like we still got to know and love them just as easily as we did the MMCs.
