A thrilling conclusion!
Holy Cow! This one was full of surprises! I don't want to give anything away but I was genuinely surprised that I didn't see most of the twists coming. MK's guys are true dangerous book boyfriend material. I don't even have a favorite anymore. I love them all!
Now, I have to go read Hades because wtf?!
Enjoying the Sweetverse
There is so much about this series that I enjoy! I love the unconventional relationships! Lola's pack is so sweet and I worry about what is coming next.
gah! what just happened?
So I'm invested now. Hmmm. I have theories on top of theories! I've obviously got to read the next book immediately. Kody and Steele are still in my good books but I don't know what to think about Archer. Like, whaaat did I just read?!?
An enjoyable smoking hot read!
I loved being immersed in the smoke jumping world. It was a great backdrop for this reverse harem romance. The conflict had real life and death stakes because of this! I really liked Hailey, Foxy, Derek and Trace together. This one was steamy!
I wasn't expecting much but I really enjoyed this book! Sophie has a wicked since of humor and I found myself getting sucked into the story for hours at a time. I'm very excited to read the next in the series!
I really love Penny Reid books. This one broke my heart and pieced it back together. I knew Ash and Drew's story would be special but I didn't expect to be so emotionally invested or to cry quite so much. Loved it!
I'm not crying. I just have something in my eye!
Anything that I thought I was missing in Neanderthal Seeks Human was delivered in full in Neanderthal Marries Human. I loved getting more of Quinn's POV! I loved the bachelorette partying with Janie's knitting friends! I'm just really happy overall, I guess. Janie's family continues to not be great for her –I really hope Jem gets a redemption arc– but it just allows for the people that care about her to step up and for her to stand up for herself. I am excited to read Elizabeth and Nico's story and Dan and Kat's story and ALL the stories. ❤️
LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! Alex is exactly my kind of hero. He's a hacker with honor. He's damaged but strong and a full-on sexy dreamboat. Then there's Sandra. She has always been one of the funniest characters in this whole series and I so enjoyed getting to know her better. I loved the romantic intrigue of exploring the city with Alex while avoiding bugged apartments and annoying NSA agents. This is now one of my favorite Penny Reid romances!
So I loved this!
I have questions but I loved this so much. Baby and her pack were exactly what I was looking for. Maybe I missed a previous book or something but I was expecting shifters and I can't quite tell what Baby and her pack are beyond their Omega, Alpha, Beta designations. Maybe it's by design.
I don't read a lot of MC romances. Bikers aren't really been my thing, but I still had fun with this.
I love all of Baby's mates but Bullet, Books, and Green were my favorites!
I really enjoyed this first book! Lips is such a strong character! Most of the other characters in this book are diabolically evil, though.
I think I like where this is going
I wanted to like Hate a bit more than I did but it's the beginning of the series, and I still am interested in where it's going. It's not really a bully romance in my eyes but Archer isn't exactly nice. Kody is trouble but I think I'd keep Steele around!
Kailyn and Dax had a very cute Meet Cute! Kaylin is definitely Dax's #1 Fangirl and has the memorabilia to prove it. I loved the fiery interplay between them early on and the conflicts and intrigue of trying to keep it platonic in front of Emme. I also loved how Emme was so essential to the story. I hope she eventually gets her own story. Loved the ending!
I loved this and I love Helen Hoang's writing! Her characters are so authentic and well written. I loved Khai's intensity and connection with Esme.
Loved Amy & Rast!
I was eagerly anticipating Amy finding her dragon and coming into her own. I was not disappointed! Rast is a bit rougher around the edges than I expected for Amy but I absolutely loved them together. His strength makes Amy stronger and her compassion makes him more understanding and empathetic. Rast still isn't perfect or always thinking kind and noble things and he wrestles with his past but Amy soothes him. It's a lovely partnership in the end. I loved this one and I'm excited to see what happens next with the other forts and the Salorians. Oh and what's really going on at Fort Shreveport? Gwen and Andrea have secrets and I really want to know what they are!
Very Enjoyable Alien Romance
I had fun with these characters! Angie and Arokh had great chemistry from the start. It was a great introduction to the aliens but I would have loved a bit more world building, so I could visualize the planet a bit more. I'm looking forward to seeing how things unfold for the other humans!
I. Cannot. Stop. Reading. These. Books.
These books have been the perfect escape for my anxiety-ridden mind right now. I'm eagerly awaiting more from the God & Anchor series, which hits me in all my happy reading places, but I know the next book is a ways out. So I've been happily spending my free time with Golden Dragons in a post-apocalyptic world. Emma and Zohr were great! I loved Emma's independence and how Zohr views her as an equal partner that he wants to protect at any cost. The world is slowly being revealed and we're learning a bit more about where these Dragons come from. I don't need all the answers I'm just happily along for the ride. It's always great to see Claudia & Kael and Sasha & Dahk. I just wished they all worked together more. I'm super excited that Amy's story is next! I don't what to think about that damn Salorian (!!!) but I really must read the next book now. Kthxbye!
I finally made time to read this and I'm so glad I did! It's a wow from me. I devoured it! I found that the characters really came to life for me. Michael and his family are so vivid in my mind. The female perspective of being a person living with autism was so enlightening and I found myself strongly relating to this author and Stella. Read the Author's Note!
I loved the gender swapped Pretty Woman angle. This is actually the second of this kind of story that I've read in the last month (Major love to Cara McKenna's Curio! I loved Didier but that story leaned more heavily erotica—not a complaint just FYI 😘. There's still a ton of steam between Michael and Stella) Anyway, it's always refreshing to see a woman in a romance as in love with her career as her love interest. And in a technical field! Love love love!
I also was thrilled to have a half Vietnamese Hero! It's secondary to everything but I loved the cultural touchstones this brought to the story. It really made it a unique romance. I can't say I've read anything quite like The Kiss Quotient and it left me with a sappy smile on my face at multiple points. I highly recommend it!
So happy I finally decided to read this!
At first I was worried about this being an overly sweet read because it's a YA romance. I needn't have worried! The Song sisters feel real. Their relationships are complex and relatable. There are some predictable plot points but I still really enjoyed seeing these moments play out. As far as the love interests go, Peter definitely grew on me but I still prefer Josh. We'll see what the next book brings!
I'm really enjoying this series!
I waffled between 4 and 5 stars, but I so enjoy my time with these characters that it has to be a 5-star rating for me. I just love the relationship progression between Sasha and Dahk. She was so abused and she becomes Dahk's whole world. I'm super excited about Emma's story and desperate for Amy to have a dragon of her own. It was great to see the beginnings of a dragon warrior alliance too! On to the next one!
I'm really enjoying this series! - 5 stars
I'm really enjoying this series! This installment starts in a very dark place but you can't keep MacKayla Lane down for long. I will say that there were some moments that wrecked me emotionally. I still can't pin down Jericho Barrons! Don't even get me started trying to figure out what's happening with V'lane and Christian. I can usually see a plot twist coming a mile away but this series has managed to genuinely surprise me on multiple occasions. I loved Mac and Dani as sidhe seer outcasts! I really hope we get to learn more about Dani! She has become one of my favorite characters in the series. There are some nice revelations about Mac's family but you'll be left with even more questions about how everything will play out when you finish this one. I'm on to Shadowfever!
Yep, this was great!
Kael is a dragon dreamboat and Claudia finally has someone to take care of her the way she's always taken care of others. I'm excited to explore more of this dystopian world and see more of these amazing golden dragons find mates. I'm hoping the dragon females will get a chance to find love too. Loving pretty much everything Ruby Dixon writes at this point!
