You wouldn't think that a book about the violent death of two fifty something university professors could be uplifting but, this wonderfully written book makes it so

I wavered between 3 and 4 stars. Good not great although end was a surprise

Don't let the fact that this is a stream of consciousness novel written in a broad Glaswegian tongue put you off! Good read but not sure it was great

Oh, this was an epic read, both in length and story telling. It's got vampires in it but its not about vampires. It's all end of days and heroes and persistence and survival and wierdness. It's great!

Excellent, tight plot, well written

It was fine, not really that scary, some of the writing felt a little stilted (or overwritten perhaps). Going to read the next one in the hope that it gets better and by that point I will feel like I need to complete the series because OCD does that to you!
