This book essentially got me into reading. I wouldn't be a reader today if it weren't for Miri and Shannon Hale.
Why this book?
This is probably my all-time favorite series. I strive to write my novels with this level of worldbuilding, character arcs, and plot twists.

Why this book?
I picked this up because I really enjoyed Entwined by the same author, and WOW this one quickly overtook the previous. It's snarky, plot-twisty, riveting adventure.

Why this book?
This book really helped me discover my love for unconventional genres, particularly magical realism. It is a fantastic historical fiction novel, beautifully written, and with a pinch of magic: just how I like it.
Why this book?
I read this in three days. It pretty much became like breathing. Though I did adore Schwab's A Darker Shade of Magic, so I shouldn't have been surprised.
