This was definitely a weird one and I can see why people wouldn't like it much. I personally liked it due to how introspective it was, especially in talking about loneliness and I also just really love Ottessa Moshfegh's writing overall, so it's a good one for me :)

It was good but it didn't really blow me away. It might be due to the overhype or that i wasn't really in a romance mood but this one really didn't really do it for me like i hoped it would, unfortunately.

BUT i swear if i see this girl Emily mentioned one more time in this series, I will scream

This felt like Catcher in the Rye mixed with The Bell Jar plus a sprinkle of Lady Bird. In so many instances I felt like I could connect with the main character (especially with where I am currently in life) and I think that's why I liked it so much. I can understand why people might not like it considering there's not much action or real plot going on but since I felt personally connected to it, I enjoyed it a lot.

It was a good book just not anything special. One thing that bothered me was how they would introduce a conflict and then tell the reader the outcome before even explaining what happened during it, like they killed any suspense that could've been there. Overall, I enjoyed it though, just wasn't super memorable tbh.

There were many things I liked about this book but the things I didn't like were too glaring to rate it any higher.
3.5/5
If this was ONLY the main story itself, I probably would've given it 5 stars, but I wasn't a huge fan of all of the references to other stories. etc. I usually didn't understand how it related to the main plot (maybe i'm dumb but ??) and got just really out of it. I really loved her writing though and the main story she was trying to tell of abuse and sadness, it was really beautiful and heartbreaking.

DNF after getting halfway. I just really couldn't get into it. It's boring, bizarre and I hated all of the characters except Jonah who was in like 10 pages total.
5/5 but I would give this 1000000 stars if I could. One of my new favorite books of all time wow.
2.5/5
I did really enjoy this book but I feel like it's way overhyped. It is a good read overall though.
2.5/5
While I can see why many people like this book, it just really wasn't for me. The storyline didn't really interest me much and I had a hard time liking the characters, especially Billy and Daisy. They both have terrible control issues that just made them act like children a lot and that was something hard for me to look past. Though this book was beautifully written and had some amazing quotes, it just really didn't do it for me overall.
