This is my favorite play of Shakespeare. I doubt of anything will top it. Hamlet (the protagonist) is so much fun to read about. I just love his angsty tantrums and twisted monologues.
I'm glad i read this short story before starting the second book. Lev is my favorite character so far and his friendship/story with Wil was quite emotional.
Amazing series. I had issues with it but overall it's very fun and i enjoyed it a lot.
I'm going to miss Dublin, Mac and Barrons.
I'm probably not going to continue with the spin-offs. I would rather conclude the story with this book.
interesting concept, mesmerizing world, gripping mystery and likable main characters.
Wow. I had so much fun reading this, i wish it was longer. I need an entire book on Celie and Banyon!
3.5 - i enjoyed this a lot, but i did find the first part more immersive than the last two
That was fun! As a fan of the high fantasy genre, this one met my expectations.
The author managed to make me care about the characters just from the first installment, while i still don't know which side of the war i'm rooting for, all i can say is that the characters were equally likeable and frustrating at the same time.
Nothing exceptional about the plot but it was fast paced and i was entertained thoroughly, i'm looking forward to delve into this series.
“I whisper your name, Ty. I whisper the most important thing:
I love you. I love you. I love you.”
2.5 - maybe i wasn't in the right head space but the book felt very underwhelming in the middle parts. I did enjoy the beginning and some aspects but i'm quite skeptical about continuing the series.
A total masterpiece! The story is bittersweet, the writing is smooth, and the villain is so memorable and easy to sympathize with. I low-key wish it was a series, but even as a standalone, it packed such a punch. I'm emotionally drained, in the best way possible. Definitely going on my list of all-time favorites!
I also really appreciate how the author left certain things open and vague, making the book thought-provoking. The epilogue will definitely haunt me.
“A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge.”
I can see how this series influenced so many modern fantasy books. I enjoyed the political storyline and intricate worldbuilding. I'm also a sucker for backstabbing and betrayals and it appears that this book doesn't shy away from all sorts of things. There were quite too many perspectives for my taste and but I understand it's a grand story that needs to be told from more than just one party.
“If I look back I am lost”
I loved revisiting the characters again. The themes of family and communities were very emotional.
