I feel bad doing this. This book is good, it really is. There's nothing wrong about it. The writing is stunning and the author creates wonderful characters. It's just not for me, unfortunately i didn't enjoy it. I did like Nura's character a lot though, and i will give the sequel a chance.
One of my favorite classics. I'm glad i read it now and not at high school, i don't think i would've appreciated it as much as i do now.
I enjoyed the book, although not much happened, and it's probably my least favorite in the series. However, Fitz as the protagonist remains a brilliant narrator. His constant mistakes and efforts to rectify them keep the story engaging. I'm particularly intrigued by the storyline involving Dutiful and eagerly anticipate its development. Hopefully, the final book in this trilogy will surpass my expectations. For now, though, I still prefer the Farseer trilogy.
“Fire and water looked so lovely together. It was a pity they destroyed each other by nature.”
I find Taryn a very complex character to read about. i don't view her as a villain in Jude's story, and i quite understand her choices.
Be still my heart. I didn't know I would be devastated over the downfall of a fictional band but Daisy and the band broke my heart to pieces.
I Understand that the interview dialogue writing might not be everyone's cup of tea. There were times were I felt detached to the characters but the overall of the story and the final events were quite emotional and i was too invested.
“Aelin looked at Chaol and Dorian and sobbed. Opened her arms to them, and wept as they held each other. “I love you both,” she whispered. “And no matter what may happen, no matter how far we may be, that will never change.”
Even though i did not love the series, i still enjoyed it and i have so many characters i adore. it's a great story and it's amazing how far it developed throughout the years. However, the final did drag more than it should've. Some parts were still impressive, i loved how everything was tied seamlessly and how all the characters teamed up, it was nice to see all those interactions. one of my favorite parts is when the original trio (Aelin, Chaol and Dorian) came together, I thought we should've gotten more of them since the story started with them. Their final farewell was so bittersweet and probably my favorite scene in the entire series. But a huge portion felt very boring and repetitive. I reached a point when all i looked for is to finish. The author created memorable characters especially the side characters but after collecting my thoughts and seeing this in retrospect, the series was simply not for me.
2.5
The premise seemed to be right up my alley. But unfortunately i was bored throughout the entire book.
It was slow and it took a while for the plot to actually start. The last quarter made me bump up the rating, since the story finally gets darker.
So beautiful, i love the writing, the themes of the story and i love Circe as a heroine so much.
I can't overstate how fascinating this book was, so many amazing parts and powerful quotes.
3.5
Some parts dragged. But still enjoyable. I love the characters and the dynamics in this book.
Impossible to put down. Fast paced and exciting, the stakes are always high so there was never a dull moment with this story. It was as action-packed as heart-wrenching. The writing was top tier and i was astonished by the brilliant storytelling and how each chapter was tailored to grip my attention.
As far as the characters go, they were all intriguing and multilayered. I enjoyed Elias' chapters more than Laia's, the internal conflicts he faces throughout the book interested more than the rebellious themes Laia's story conveyed, and besides, Helene alone is worth 5 stars.
It was alright, i did guess some of the twists before the reveals but it was still enjoyable to the end.
