An excellent addition to the series. my only complaint is that there want a lot of progress on the over arching plot.
I enjoyed Mindstar Rising. I was in a cyberpunk mood and this gave me everything that I was looking for in a novel. Dystopian Corporate Schemes, futuristic technology, and psychic power.
Good Read.
I am not normally into Vampire fiction, but the idea of the series intrigued me so I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed.
This novel had a good balance of paranormal mystery, vampire politics, interesting characters, and touched very lightly into paranormal romance - just enough to keep the vampire seduction vibe in view, but not too much to place it into erotica.
I enjoy the character, particularly because she is a strong character who doesn't actually want to be a vampire, which makes the dive into the secret world of Chicago Vampire House Politics all the more interesting.
I will be giving the other books in the series a try.
A lot of very interesting ideas, but I might be unusual in liking to think about economic policy and the underlying philosophy.
This was a hard read. Many of the examples within were known to me (or weren't surprising). But as the author implies, it's hard to look into this mirror and see your flaws, and how those flaws feed into the system that negatively affects others.
Keep being aware. Keep learning. Keep trying to grow.
Even with some anachronisms to mid-century pros, this holds up as excellent space opera sci-fi. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
The book was beautifully written, and the story that unfolded was well crafted. However, this wasn't a book for me.
Every creative person, teacher, and individual seeking their passion should read this book. Sir Ken Robinson takes you on a journey in which you meet amazing and famous people who all gain success by finding ‘Their Element'.
An excellent look into a Science Fiction future. It combines some of my favorite parts of Detective Stories, Noir, and Transhumanism.
This book subverts your expectations, in delightful ways. I can't say more as this is a book that you should read cold with little information about what lies ahead.
A decent intro to Shadowrun, but I was left wanting more. The book was also a little dense for my tastes in Genre fiction. Not a bad read, but this novel shows its age and the progression of the genre/setting and style.
It a solid detective story, and while the world was interesting, the fact that we the audience don't get any real insight into the world of magic was a bit disappointing.
