Quick fun read, I really enjoyed it :) I love middle grades! Especially spooky middle grade reads. Halloween in February mwahahaha!
Argyle is the only story i actually liked, other than that i feel like everything else fell flat & i was often bored
this review sum up my thoughts perfectly
so does this one
3.25 I like how gay this was, I would've enjoyed this so much more if I felt connected to the characters but unfortunately I didn't
The more i read YA the more i realize there are very few YA books that actually do it for me, i cared more about Smith & Rory than anything else
I'm very happy with the ending it's so cute. Overall I absolutely enjoyed this book like I expected I would. I just love Yoon's writing style & her stories :) Also the plot twist in this book is a tad predictable
4.5
initially this book wasn't engaging or keeping my attention & i was thinking about dnf'ing it like 60 pages in but i decided to keep going and i'm so glad i did!!
this is a fast paced thriller mystery with twists i absolutely did not see coming! i couldn't put this book down & whenever i did i couldn't stop thinking about it!
i think the author does a really good job with keeping the pacing consistent and keeping you interested in what might happen next, i was on the edge on my seat the closer and closer we got to figuring out what was going on!
heads up i'm ranting about how much the sister “side plot” (main plot lets just call it what it is) of this book pissed me off & annoyed me every chance i get
i thought this was supposed to be a romance novel????
#1. libby for gods sake stop calling nora sissy every chance you get
#2. WHY ARE WE GETTING SO MUCH OF THE SISTER DYNAMICS??? I DONT GIVE AF???
#3. charlie & nora's banter was so good, such a shame this book didn't live up to it's potential to give them the story they deserve—in the beginning i was REALLY enjoying the book, much like a 4 store, then towards the middle/end i got SO bored because of the freaking complex sister dynamic plot line, i almost dnf'd but i pushed through
#4. the romance wasn't believable, 100 pages in & they're already kissing? why we going so fast?? if the book spent more time focusing on the actual romance between the two characters rather than the sister dynamics it would've made more sense
#5. the pacing was very off to me & i didn't enjoy it, mostly because of how much the sister thing takes up the plot like i mentioned before & the romance wasn't centralized like the book was marketed for it to be
this is my first time reading a book written by emily henry & i'm quite disappointed, i was expecting so much more especially because of booktok ya kno
Part of Your World gave such a fast paced narrative that kept me engaged the entire time, but ultimately it fell short for me. It seemed like Alexis knew more about Daniel & his life than he did about her & her life and I didn't enjoy that.
I really enjoyed the humor injected into the story through the characters, I did find myself grinning and laughing a lot. The first 30% of the book made this seem like a 4 star read but throughout the story everything just kinda got lost.
Not to be a hater, but if you ask me Daniel deserves better! In my opinion Alexis failed to evoke empathy or interest in her struggles for me personally which left me indifferent to her problems. Daniel definitely emerged as a more compelling character for me! Though I will say more towards the end Alexis was a bit relatable.
I think this is such a cute romance and I enjoyed a lot of different components of this story but it's also made me realize opposites attract in terms of wealth and socioeconomic status just isn't my cup of tea! I really like Abby Jimenez's writing and if I read a book by her with tropes I actually like I could potentially find a 5 star read within her books!
“sometimes it's easier to believe what you think is true instead of having to figure out others”
This took me quite while to get into i'm not going to lie, it was very frustrating at times and Vanessa is a complex character. Strane is just disgusting and manipulative which is obviously upsetting making it difficult for me to continue reading. The difficult topics and amount of rape scenes and other abusive scenes made me want to throw away this book so many times but Kate Elizabeth Russell's writing style made it so hard to put down. The writing is beautiful and the way she explores this topic in her novel is amazing. My feelings at the end of this novel were very conflicted being that it was a lot to take in, but also getting a perspective on something I have never personally experienced was really eye opening. It was interesting to see Vanessa's outlook on how she viewed herself and everyone around her and how that affected the decisions she made in her life while enduring everything she was going through. This was a great read but I definitely wouldn't recommend this book to everyone.
this is actually insane. i need more?
this book gave me whiplash in the best way possible? but also i was extremely stressed? so maybe not the best? but i loved and lived for the drama! buyin the physical copy & annotating it, this one hurt.
cried a few times just because i could relate. not ashamed. although i probably should be.
The ending felt rushed which was disappointing, but the book itself was a fun time so what more could I ask for.
alex, we need to have a talk. first the silent patient, and now this? brb i'm in a state of shock that i presume will never go away.
