Can't handle the cuteness!!!
Actual review:
This book was just what I needed: I was REALLY slumpy and I couldn't find a book I was interested in, so I kept reading 20 pages of a book and leaving it and so on. So when the hilarious Simon appeared with all his awkwardness and the HP references I was head over heels with this book.
The great family dinamic it's for me the strong point of this book: I love how this book shows that with even a present family, it still can be hard to tell them about your sexuality. The family traditions were on point and looooved Alice and Nora so much.
But on the other hand, some friends left much to be desired, like Leah, who was practically a bitch during the entire book and I didn't found one freaking reason for her to be Simon's -or anybodys- friend. She didn't have one good quality that made her likable. She was so selfish and such a brat. Felt like she was just there for the purpose of molesting.
Simon felt so real to me: The desicions he made were what I would totally do if I was in his place. I'd totally befriend him right away! He made real desicions and felt real feels. He didn't make always the right desicions, but he made the desicions you can expect from a 17 year old for sure.
Blue: i wasn't expecting to be the guy it was! it didn't blew me away-he was one of the possible candidates- but surprised me a little nonetheless.
The ending was just perfect: it was wrapped in a nice bow, but it was totally believable. I was just swooning all over him and Blue.
More like a 4.75, but who cares.
I was really drowned in this story, I really liked how Paige make this dark and twisted Oz, giving the old and know-by-everybody characters in something completely different, with a deep and unique personality every single one of them (or at least most of them).
I really enjoyed the fast pace of the book, and it got me out of my reading slump! So extra points for that.
The only thing I didn't enjoy that much was the main character, Amy Gumm. I just didn't buy the ‘I do the good thing because it's the right thing to do' stuff. And she didn't shut up about how terrible her mother was, and how she forgot about her and bla bla bla. Okay girl, I know you had a shitty life, but PLEASE STOP.
Anyway, this was a really fun read, full of magic and bitchiness (wich personally I really do enjoy). PERHAPS it would win a spot in my top reads of 2015.
Oh my God. I have no words to describe how amazing this woman is.
This speech was just... God. Never a thing so short opened my eyes so wide.
The way Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie see things makes me feel full of hope, hope of a world where my daughter will be as respected as a men and gender won't be an impediment for her.
I found myself highlighting a lot of beautiful and thought provoking quotes till a point I had to stop because I was highlighting almost every paragraph.
READ IT PLEASE. DO THE WORLD A FAVOR AND READ THIS.
( I also recommend watching the TEDtalk along you're reading it )

The third instalment in the Percy Jackson series is by far the best one yet.
This series follows a similar formula every book, but this one had some things the other ones didn't.
The flaw I found in previous books was the one dimensional characters, but in this one is was surprised: We start to see the relationship between Percy and Annabeth develop, and I can for sure say this adds so much depth to this two characters, (plus come on they're so freaking cute when they're together)
In The Titan's Curse we finally see a more mature (that doesn't mean less funny) cast of characters, thinking twice before making decisions and about how their actions affect others, cause I was just tired of Percy making stupid desicions without thinking about the consequences.
ARTEMIS' CREW GUYS. I just loved them sososo much, and they added a lot to the story, specially Zoe<3 She was the Annabeth factor when the last one was absent(kind of).
And I hope to discover more about the DiAngelo brothers in the next instalment. I just felt we didn't get enough of them in this book and that's mainly why I'm giving this it 4.5 stars instead of just a full 5 stars.
This one I can say gripped me the most out of the three books I've read so far in the series.
Looking foward to read The Battle of The Labyrinth!
If you go through my ratings, you will see that I almost never give 1 star to a book. This is the second or third book I gave 1 star in 3 YEARS. So yeah, it was bad.
Kiera Cass, I want to tell you that this book was such a disappointment and you just lost a reader.
You wrote a book with the EXACT same formula as your previous trilogy, but this was so bad that you can notice this books was made just for the money. If you say to me that this book had thought put in it before publishing it, I would never believe you, because this was so bad written that I was cringing the whole time, but I kept reading, hoping that I would get better, but it never got better... It got even worse.
This book had all the things I didn't like, and lacked all the good stuff that kept me reading The Selection.
Eadlyn it's so annoying! She LITERALLY says like 30 times “I'm the most powerful person in the planet” and “I can do what I want”. She is the worst character EVER. For this kind if book people say shit about the Young Adult genre.
This book lacks of everything a good book should have: It doesn't have ANY character development. She's the same spoiled stubborn brat from beginning to end. When some of the characters show her the mistakes she is doing, she just makes a scene and leaves the room dramatically. She would freak out about the littlest thing and be SO mean to everybody for no reason! When other people did stuff the only thing she was thinking it's how it would affect her!
I have never read a character that was so self-absorbed.
The plot didn't go anywhere: the plot was so simple she being mean, she realizing she's a bitch, she forgetting about it and being a bitch all over again and so on.
There was a subplot that if it was well developed it would have make this book really great, but Cass decided to keep it in the shadows.
The boys: some of them were okay, some of them were gross. The only one I liked was Eric and he didn't even was in the selection...
The only parts I enjoyed were the ones with Maxon and America because they're so freaking cute!
But in conclusion, this book was terrible. Like really really terrible.
3.5
I wasn't really interested in reading this book, and 3 bucks for a 100 page book didn't worth it for me, but it was free on a kindle sale so I thought I'd give it a try.
It was enjoyable, but too short to give it a higher rating; still wanna know what happens next, so I'll be picking up the next part soon.
